Madison man charged in home invasion Scott Cousins, scousins@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail EDWARDSVILLE A Madison man has been charged in a May 22 home invasion, in which the victim was injured. Chad E. Johnson, 48, of Madison, was charged May 24 with home invasion, a Class X felony; and aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony. The case was presented by the Madison Police Department. According to court documents, on May 22 Johnson allegedly entered the home knowing someone was there, and punched the victim, who suffered from a “physical disability” in the face. Bail was set at $150,000. Other felony cases filed May 24 by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office include:

Alton school will host COVID vaccinations Ron DeBrock, ronald.debrock@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail WOOD RIVER The Madison County Health Department has added two more schools in Alton and Highland to the list of upcoming COVID-19 vaccination sites. The MCHD will offer vaccinations June 3 at Alton High School and June 9 at Highland Primary School. Earlier this week the MCHD also announced vaccination clinics at Granite City High School on May 24, Triad High School in Troy on May 27, Trimpe Middle School in Bethalto on June 2 and Collinsville Middle School on June 7. All four are planned for 3:30-7:30 p.m. Additional clinics are planned May 25 at the Hamel Community Center and May 21-25 at the Gateway Convention Center in Collinsville. The MCHD is accepting walk-ins at the vaccination clinics, but appointments are requested. Vaccinations are available for people 12 and older.
