Madison man charged in home invasion

EDWARDSVILLE A Madison man has been charged in a May 22 home invasion, in which the victim was injured.
Chad E. Johnson, 48, of Madison, was charged May 24 with home invasion, a Class X felony; and aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony.
The case was presented by the Madison Police Department.
According to court documents, on May 22 Johnson allegedly entered the home knowing someone was there, and punched the victim, who suffered from a “physical disability” in the face.
Bail was set at $150,000.

EDWARDSVILLE Two men were charged with multiple felonies relating to a home invasion in East Alton, in which a pregnant victim suffered head injuries and had gasoline poured on her.
King S. Burrow, 27, of Wood River, and Jakiya A. Jirdon, 18, of Alton, were each charged Thursday, Feb. 18, with home invasion, a Class X felony; two counts of robbery, both Class 2 felonies; and two counts of aggravated battery, both Class 3 felonies.
Bail was set at $250,000 each.
The cases were presented by the East Alton Police Department.
