There Is Low Adoption Of Renewable Energy Among SMEs - ACEP

  The Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) says there is low patronage of Renewable Energy (RE) among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) which deprives them of the benefits of the technology. ACEP observed that about 89% of SMEs relied on conventional sources of power with 11% opting for fuel powered generation as primary source of power; with secondary source of power, 60% relying on diesel power generators while only 5% used renewable energy sources. 35% had no backup source of power. This was made known to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in a Zoom presentation on Tuesday by the Policy Lead Climate Change and Energy Transition, ACEP, during which he presented the findings of a survey conducted on how SMEs in Ghana had adopted RE in their work.

Gardner Policy Institute – with the assistance of a 37-person Technical Advisory Committee – has prepared a Utah Roadmap to help legislators make policy to improve air quality and address causes and impacts of a changing climate. We’ll ask legislators and others how the Roadmap is being implemented this legislative session. Our guests will include Rep. Steven Handy, R-Layton and Rep. Joel Briscoe, D-Salt Lake City. Representatives Handy and Briscoe are among the co-chairs of the Clean Air Caucus. We’ll also be talking with Thomas Holst, Senior Energy Analyst with the Kem C. 2 Chenango County Holiday Meal Distributions Announced Commerce Chenango is excited to announce the distribution of a holiday meal in two Chenango County locations on December 18, 2020. The drive-thru event is the collaboration of Commerce Chenango, SUNY Morrisville-Norwich Campus, and NBT Bank in which a total of 400 complete meals will be distributed between the two sites. Lindsey Lefevre, Director of SUNY Morrisville Norwich Campus noted, “Community collaboration is key in successfully planning and executing this type of event and we are grateful for businesses, organizations and volunteers who consistently assist with no hesitation. As we continue to grapple with the effects of the pandemic this holiday season, it is more important than ever that we remain committed in supporting local businesses and those in need during these times.”
