Exactly. Days until that election, more places and more opportunities for folks to do just that. This is a big weekend for several bay area counties. If youre here youll see a super voting center, a center where instead of having several polling locations, they will have one center. The Oakland Coliseum being one and the San Mateo Center behind me being the other. California voters are not required to show identification but if you are voting for the first time in the state after registered by mail, it is suggested that you bring one. In terms of contracost a county, voting there started a few minutes ago. Centers are held at churches, hotels, businesses and community centers. A quick check at the contra costa registrars website can tell you where to go. San francisco county has early voting at civic center location. The numbers are still down compared to this time last year. Heres a live look at sfo where 60,000 people departed over the weekend. The airport usually sees about 30, about 85,000 passengers departing each day over the Holiday Weekend. As for oakland, tsa numbers were down 61 compared to last year. Only run 6700 people went through the airport on sunday. In san joses airport was even quieter, the minetta airport only saw about 25 of the typical Holiday Weekend traffic that usually does. Numbers are down in the bay area, numbers are up across the country and we have not even seen the busiest travel days yet. Which are always the day before thanksgiving, and the days after. From packed gates at phoenix, sky harbor airport, to long lines at lax and the traffic at Chicagos Ohare International airport, americans are on the move. Covid or not.
