treated them very badly. it was a kind of serial creepiness. there was the horrifying photo that he posed for, almost as if to memorialize a certain abuse. so it does not strike me as unreasonable that he stepped down at all. it strikes me as in line with a national attempt to declare so that we all understand what the rules and ways of being are now. jonathan alter says democrats will come to regret this rush to judgment on franken. do you believe that? i don t. i think we can call people we can have respect for people just like with conyers. i think conyers san icon but we also have to hold him responsible. i also think that this is an important cultural moment. i m having conversations as a guy, i think we should shut up and listen but i m having conversations with my young boys about this thing in a way we would not have. kudos for these courageous women standing up and bringing this to the forefront.
that will happen most likely soon and probably with some republican support. tim, that is a major dilemma for the republican party. what do you do if roy moore wins? clearly this will be an issue for 2018. as lynn pointed out franken is out. conyers is out. they can draw the political line and say we have the moral high ground. do republicans have this ethics investigation and try to expel him against the will of alabama voters? the question is going to be and you see this being said by republican congressional leaders and outside republican leaders. is this the republican party or is this the trump part? if it s the trump party it s hard to imagine there will be an ethics investigation. if it is a republican party a republican pre2016 party of course there will be an ethics investigation. corey gardner saying he will not tolerate roy moore in the senate. we want to ask you about what roy moore said this morning about why he is running for
completely honest and say it took the democrats a hot second as well, the democrats, to get on board with all this. yeah, nancy pelosi. of course! we bungled that, too, and i think so far there s only been one gop congresswoman calling for fahrenthold to resign, mia love, so they re all failing the leadership test and i think they are taking a much more political approach to this than democrats are. and the way we re approaching it is not just in terms of crass politics and what s going to help us win elections. it s did you do something wrong? and if you did, you ve got to go. but does it come down to politics at the end of the day? is this for the long game for democrats or is this actually becoming a moral issue? i very i feel very strongly about this, that this is a moral issue. and if it were just about politics, you know, you wouldn t have seen all these people saying franken s got to go. you wouldn t have seen all these people saying a guy who had been a legend, like c
