You can see some high clouds trying to work their way into the bay area up in portions of the north bay, up toward marin and sonoma counties. Light rain . What happened to winter . These are mid latitude systems. Wheres all the cold air . Its bottled up east of us. I will take you back 48 hours. This is coming in from the west and southwest. There is no cold air. In advance of that here comes the next system. Thats coming from the west and the southwest. We have a southerly breeze coming in. You get a southwind and no cold air. Our lows which were in the 20s and 30s a week ago, they have come up along with the cloud cover. Thats why its so mild and warm. Thats why san jose and livermore hit 70 tomorrow. Some mist will develop. Mist and drizzle for some. This looks to be north of the golden gate. The only outlier could be the Santa Cruz Mountains which in this pattern can get a steady rain. 50s and 60s for the temps. East bay temperatures in the mid50s. Low 50s and upper 50s and 60s. They dont have much cold air. These are coming in from the west, not the northwest. Look for mostly cloudy skies and occasional rain. Nothing too heavy. The heaviest amount should be to the north. Next monday or tuesday could be a different story but until then we are looking for maybe a tenth of an inch or a quarter inch. Some places could pick up a halfinch, especially around the Russian River and north. The roads are pretty good. We do have some congestion on the bay bridge but so far at the toll plaza we have not seen any big delays. I dont think it will cause a big delay. Reporter the judge handed down the harshst penalty to him. 15 years to life in state prison for all three former a guards. Ferries, rodriguez, and lubrin have been found guilty of seconddegree murder of the mentally ill inmate. He was first down deceased in his cell in august of 2015. Family members of the guard sobbed openly. Many asked the judge for leniency in letters, but the only letter read today came from michaels sister shannon who spoke about her life sentence when she found out about his death. The District Attorney and sheriff spoke moments after the sentencing was handed down. This is not a happy day for law enforcement, far from it because these three jail guards, whose job it was to oversee the correctional system will now be imprisoned within in it.
