The arrest came after authorities released this surveillance video. It shows a man Walking AroundHarker Middle School early tuesday morning. Investigators say the teacher was there early before class started to prepare for her students. San joses police chief will hold a News Conference on this case at noon today with more information about the arrest. We now know the name of the man who was shot and killed wednesday afternoon by a bart Police Officer in oakland. He was 28yearold, shaleem tindle. Oakland Police Confirmed this. The bart officer, who was wearing a body camera, heard shots fired wednesday afternoon around 4 40 pm across the street from the west oakland bart station. The officer ran to the scene, salt two men in a struggle, one had a gun. Investigators said the bart officer warned the men several times and then shot the man who had begun. Later identified as shaleem tindle. The other man was treated at a hospital and released. Tindles relatives on social media mourned his death. That included pro boxer kareem mayfield who shared this photo of tindle. Tindle is on the left. Mayfield said, my heart is aching right now. My little brother, shaleem, was just murdered by bart police in west oakland yesterday. The Alameda CountySheriffs Department is denying allegations that Corrections Officers coerced pregnant inmates into having abortions. A group of current and former inmates is suing the Sheriffs Office and federal courts. Robert nock and reports the allegations include unsafe conditions for pregnant inmates and one woman who gave birth in her cell alone. Reporter the allegations heard on the front steps outside the Alameda CountySheriffs Office by two former female inmates and their lawyers were so horrific and pointed that the Sheriffs Office responded quickly. We take these allegations very seriously. They are hurtful and we dont believe they are true. Reporter two former inmates and their attorneys claim officials at the santa rita jail engaged in barbaric, systematic behavior that denied female inmates medical attention, warm clothing, regular meals and worse. What the sheriff has been doing is either trying to pressure women into getting abortions or treating them in such a way that it imperils the health of their fetus. Reporter arrested on a parole violation, Christina Zepeda of san leandro says she was three months pregnant and had a miscarriage in part due to poor conditions and mistreatment at the jail. Political analyst Michael Cardoza said regardless of what the judge decides today, Garcia Zarate will still face federal charges. When you have a big storm like this, planes and cruise are not where theyre supposed to be. What you wind up seeing ripples throughout the system. Its only five of 7 am. Look at the top of the board and you can see flights from new york are already canceled. We can expect to see more of that as the day progresses. We are already seeing 19 canceled flights both outbound and inbound. Flights from boston, jfk and newark are impacted. A halfdozen outbound flight to jfk and newark are also canceled. In about an hour we are expecting to hear from the faa about how the day is shaping up. This means if you are traveling, check in before you leave the airport, even if your flight is not to the east coast. As we heard from those pilots we spoke to earlier, even if your flight isnt to the east coast, you could experience delays because your plane or the flight crew we not be where they are intended. Court documents say jameson told an undercover agent who he believed was a member of isis that he knew how to make pipe bombs and he planned to set them off at pier 39 to get people to run to an area where he could shoot them. They set aside tickets for fire victims and First Responders hoping to give them a needed laugh and adding to the 700,000 thats been raised by the king ridge foundation. We want to give the money directly to the victims, not to the landlords or in the form of vouchers. For the most part these are cash grants between 500 and 1500. King ridge was founded by cyclist Levi Leipheimer who lost his own home in the firestorm. The charities also helped more than 100 families with rent and other necessities.
