+ February 07, 2021 BUSINESSWOMAN Janet Lim Napoles will file charges against the three Sandiganbayan associate justices who convicted her of graft over the misuse of pork barrel funds allotted to former Cagayan de Oro congressman Constantino Jaraula.
Her legal counsel Rony Garay said charges of “gross ignorance of the law, manifest partiality and extreme bias” will be filed against Justices Geraldine Faith Econg, Reynaldo dela Cruz and Edgardo Caldona
He said the conviction of Napoles, Jaraula and three others “had been clearly hurried and handed down haphazardly” without considering their pending motions and looking at the evidence.
Garay cited the erroneous inclusion of Napoles in the direct bribery conviction of Jaraula, which the Sandiganbayan later said was a typographical error.

In a statement on Saturday, Napoles’ lawyer, Rony Garay, said they are preparing the complaint against Justice Edgardo Caldona, who penned the ruling that convicted Napoles of multiple counts of graft and malversation, as well as Justices Efren dela Cruz and Geraldine Faith Econg, who concurred.
Napoles’ camp wants the justices of the anti-graft court’s first division held liable for “gross ignorance of the law, manifest partiality and extreme bias.”

Rony Garay, Napoles’ lawyer, said they were preparing appropriate charges against Justice Geraldine Faith Econg, Justice Reynaldo dela Cruz, and Justice Edgardgo Caldona “for gross ignorance of the law, manifest partiality, and extreme bias.” In a 103-page decision, the Sandiganbyan on Friday ruled that Napoles, former Cagayan de Oro representative Constantino Jaraula and three others had pocketed P19.2 million from a lawmaker s pork barrel budget and were thus guilty of three counts of graft and three counts of malversation.
