I can tell what part of the country the reporters are from by watching what they are wearing. This one lady is wearing sleeveless at 6 am so that means it must be hot. Southbound 101 through south city the lanes are open. This is closer to the oyster point then to the old candlestick point. Southbound 101 traffic is moving along pretty well. 280 is a decent alternative. It is a great drive right now all the way down the peninsula, and not a bad drive at all on northbound 101. We have dodged a bullet when it comes to the commute to the airport. Looking down the belmont, redwood city and palo alto, traffic is okay driving through with no problems on the dumbarton bridge for the san mateo bridge crossing onto highway 101. Traffic is moving well in both directions. I want to mention that 580 through Castro Valley is slow. An earlier accident on 238 that is now on the shoulder. To the north over the mountains and fog and drizzle here with plenty of low clouds. By 4 am cloudy with thunderstorms erupting. Mendocino county and Northern Area mainly, shasta, sacramento valley, some of these producing big hail and torrential rains. These are slow moving so watch out. Description of the shooters. All we have is very vague description, four occupants they are spanishspeaking from the hayward area and reports initially are a white vehicle but we have not confirmed a make or model. They are saying multiple occupants in the vehicle. Reporter chp do not have an update at this point on the suspect vehicle. You heard it was a white sedan possibly multiple occupants. The suspects should be considered armed and dangerous. They are asking anyone to tell investigators if they saw anything. The suspects are dangerous so do not approach them. Back to the traffic impact, turning to the right you can see chp forcing traffic off of i880 southbound getting off at lewelling boulevard. They do not want anybody driving through, they are currently scanning the area so they can aid in a potential prosecution as this goes forward. I worked in austin but we would have to drive to the coast whenever there was a hurricane coming. This is intensifying rapidly from 35 miles an hour to 60 miles an hour in reaching category 1 or category 2. All the Tropical Storm warnings are being issued surrounding brownsville, Corpus Christi and houston. This could be potentially catastrophic rainfall with over 20 inches of rain, hanging out for quite a while. Any travel plans for the texas coast, you would probably want to change those. We have cooler weather and clouds with a good breeze, temperatures being held down. When this kicks out it allows the High Pressure to build in tomorrow.
