andy, thank you. thanks for joining me. i m paula reed in for fredericka witfield. we begin this hour with the u.s. announcing new actions in response to russia s, quote, barbaric and inhumane war in ukraine. vice president kamala harris and the secretary of state meeting with world leaders at the munich security conference today, formally declaring russia has committed crimes against humanity. nick, what are you hearing on the ground? reporter: there is support here in europe sharing that view that russia is committing these crimes against humanity. i think it was encouraging for the audience here in europe to hear that accountability will be held. there is a sense in europe that they need to build a system and a mechanism here in europe and there s talk about doing it in the hague in the netherlands, a traditional place where leaders can be held to account. they have been historically in the past. i think the vice president s words resonating. this is exactly how sh
administration usual antagonists, like evil red state governors who remind her to do her job and visit the border. talk about political theater. playing games with people s lives, with their lives. i just think it is an absolute dereliction of duty. if you see a problem and if we agree that we need to address it, then if you re a leader, participate in a solution, right? when we first came in office, the first bill that we proposed was for a pathway for citizenship, was to fix a broken immigration system which was broken under the previous administration. kamala working overtime to spin her border security narrative. it is such a blatant lie, democrats are forced to call her out. kamala harris is absolutely wrong on that. it is not secure. we have a lot of work to do. i m not here to get in a fight or tow the democratic line, i m here to speak the truth, we do have more work to do. kamala s visit to late night wouldn t be complete without some kissing up to her boss.
that they ve been restricted from using, in their ongoing criminal probe into these classified documents, that were seized from mar-a-lago last month. the appeals court is saying here, they are really agreeing with the justice department, saying that yes, in fact, national security could be harmed if the justice department can t continue its probe here. they set the doj has argued that the criminal investigation, and then national security investment is inextricably linked. the appeals court saying, yes, in fact, if we don t let the doj continue to use these classified documents, there will be real and significant harm on the united states and the public. notably, in this opinion as well, anderson, the 11th circuit is really faulting trump s lawyers, for not better explaining what seems to be their argument, the trump may be declassified [inaudible] his lawyers, his allies, but they ve not offered any proof in court filings or in-person. so the 11 circuit tonight criticizin
