Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday announced an ‘Open-Ended Mini Bus Permit Policy’, with no deadline for rural youth to apply for such a permit, while laying foundation stones of Rs 55.16 crore worth of high-tech State Transport Department institutes, including home delivery of driving licences.
The Chief Minister also virtually launched distribution of 3000 mini bus permits for the rural youth to give a boost to the ‘Ghar Ghar Rozgar te Karobar’ mission, with token presentation of permits to 5 beneficiaries. He said that while 3000 permits were being handed over today, while another 8000 would follow through the rest of the year, taking the total to be distributed by the end of the year to 11000, generating both direct and indirect employ
(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) has announced the commencement of operations of its district cooling plant at Dubai Production City project with a cooling capacity of 47,000 refrigeration tonnes (RT).
The contract worth Dh197 million was awarded by Empower last year for building this new generation district cooling plant.
This is the first permanent plant room out of the three ones established in the area with a total capacity of 125,000 RT for the whole project upon completion. 52 multi-use buildings are already connected to the new plant during the first phase; and 14 additional buildings will be connected in the next two years.

AP Gram Panchayat Elections 2021: Polling for the first phase of Panchayat Elections passed off peacefully on Tuesday. Elections were conducted in 18 revenue divisions across 12 districts in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The State Election Commission said that there was 81.42 per cent turnout, as as per the Elections schedule, the counting of votes will take place from 4 PM.
The election for the deputy sarpanch will be held after the results are declared. As many as 75.55 per cent polling was recorded until 2.30 PM. As of 12:30 PM 62 percent polling was recorded. Webcasting was set up in about 7,000 centres and State Election Officer Girija Shankar monitored from the Command Control Centre through webcasting.

The Integrated Police Command Control Centre, coming up at Banjara Hills at a cost of ₹800 crore, will be functional next year, said Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Thursday.
After inauguration the 200 community CCTV cameras in the limits of Golconda, Asifnagar, and Humayun Nagar police stations, Mr. Ali said that the first-of its-kind Command Control Centre in the country would make Hyderabad more safer.
“Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao laid a big platform for peace and security in the State, as part of which he provided adequate support to the police department. About 60 percent of the total cameras in the country are located in Hyderabad,” he said.
