Triumph of YSRCP-backed candidates in Kuppam a gift to Jagan, says Peddireddi

Minister demands resignation of Naidu on moral grounds Panchayat Raj Minister Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy has hailed the triumph of the YSRCP-backed candidates in the third phase of the panchayat elections in Kuppam constituency, the home turf of TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu, and has termed the “landslide victory” as a gift to Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. The ruling party leaders are visibly elated over bringing into their kitty more than 80% of the panchayats in the constituency, considered the fortress of the Leader of the Opposition leader. Terming the victory as a clear indication of the voters’ acceptance of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s administration, Mr. Ramachandra Reddy said, “The opposition party has been blaming the well-intended welfare schemes, creating legal hurdles for developmental projects and spreading canards that the government is pushing the State into a debt trap.”

AP Panchayat Elections 2021: 65 Percent Polling Registered In Second Phase Feb 13, 2021, 13:16 IST Andhra Pradesh 2nd Phase Panchayat Elections 2021: The second phase of the Andhra Pradesh  Gram Panchayat Elections  which commenced on Saturday registered 64.75 per cent polling at 12:30. Voting for 2,786 ward members commenced at 6.30 am and will conclude at 3.30 pm while counting of votes will start at 4 pm. Elections will be held to elect 20,817 ward members. In the second phase, the announcement was made for the election of 33,570 wards in a total of 3,328 panchayats spread over 18 revenue divisions in 167 mandals in 13 districts. Of these, 539 sarpanch positions were declared unanimous. A total of 7,510 candidates are in the fray for the remaining 2,786 panchayats. At 10:30 a.m., 37.67 percent polling was recorded. State Election Officer Girija Shankar is overseeing the election process through webcasting.

The first phase of polling for 2,723 panchayats and 20,157 ward members in 18 revenue divisions had culminated peacefully at 3:30 pm on Tuesday with 81.42 per cent turnout. Counting began on 9 th February 2021 itself at 4 PM.  According to Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Botcha Satyanarayana, more than 81 per cent of candidates supported by the YSRCP have won in the first phase of AP Panchayat Elections.

Feb 10, 2021, 15:58 IST Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Election 2021 Phase 1 Results: The results of the first phase of Gram Panchayat elections in Andhra Pradesh were released after counting started at 4 PM on Tuesday. The first phase of polling for 2,723 panchayats in Andhra Pradesh ended peacefully with 81.78 per cent turnout, where Krishna District  recorded the highest percentage of 85.06,as per reports which came out in the evening. Elections were to be held for 3,249 posts of panchayat sarpanches and to elect 20,157 ward members. According to the Panchayat Raj department, since 525 were unanimously elected and no nomination was filed for a village in Nellore district, polls were held for 2,723 panchayats.

First Phase Of AP Gram Panchayat Elections Passes Off Peacefully

Feb 09, 2021, 16:37 IST AP Gram Panchayat Elections 2021: Polling for the first phase of Panchayat Elections passed off peacefully on Tuesday. Elections were conducted in 18 revenue divisions across 12 districts in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The State Election Commission said  that there was 81.42 per cent turnout, as as per the Elections schedule, the counting of votes will take place from 4 PM. The election for the deputy sarpanch will be held after the results are declared. As many as 75.55 per cent polling was recorded until 2.30 PM. As of 12:30 PM 62 percent polling was recorded. Webcasting was set up in about 7,000 centres and State Election Officer Girija Shankar monitored from the Command Control Centre through webcasting.
