COLONIAL HEIGHTS Students in Colonial Heights will continue to learn remotely for the first week of the second semester following the school division s winter break, from January 4 through 8. Students will be allowed to return to in-person school beginning Jan. 11.
The school division cited an, abundance of caution regarding the COVID-19 pandemic as the rationale for the decision. Colonial Heights Public Schools has limited students to remote learning since the week prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.
The school division made the decision in advance of Christmas, and made mention of the holiday, and its potential to spread COVID-19 during large, family gatherings, in its announcement of the decision on Friday afternoon.
