Mumbai reports more than 1,100 new cases today
For the second day in a row, Mumbai city reported new cases below 900, after witnessing a spike of over 1,000 cases for four consecutive days. On Tuesday, 859 people tested positive for the virus, while 903 patients recovered in the city. Mumbai reported only two COVID-19 fatalities, the lowest in the last 10 months. The overall death toll has risen to 11,476, while the caseload increased to 3,27,619. At present, there are 9,633 active COVID-19 cases in the city now. Meanwhile, in addition to BMC centres, 29 private hospitals in Mumbai have been given permissions to carry out COVID Vaccination Drive. The BMC said that these 29 hospitals fulfil all criteria prescribed by GoI to be designated as COVID Vaccination Centre (CVC).

Regular water supply in South Mumbai s A ward, which covers the Cuffe Parade, Churchgate, Colaba and Nariman Point areas has been heavily affected after a water supply pipeline had burst near the Coastal Road construction site opposite the Taraporewala Aquarium, Marine Drive.
Presently, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is carrying construction works for the Coastal Road Project in this area. While local residents pointed to work being carried out by the BMC in the area for the coastal road project, as a reason for the pipe rupturing, a civic official stated, the pipeline may have burst due to fluctuating water pressure.
BMC unveils Rs 39,038 crore budget; here are the key highlights

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (
BMC), which is the richest civic body in the country, on Wednesday unveiled its Rs 39,038.83 crore
budget for the year 2021-22. The total budget estimates for the next financial year are 16.74 per cent more than the last fiscal, when it had presented a budget of Rs 33,441.02 crore.
During 2021-22, the proposed capital expenditure is Rs.18,750 crore. From this, work of various STP projects, coastal road, GMLR, Hydro - Solar Power Project at Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Middle Vaitarna Dam, desalination project, rejuvenation of Mithi river, rejuvenation of Dahisar, Poisar and Walbhat rivers, upgradation of Deonar Abattoir, 12 bridges over railway, six new bridges, and upgradation of five hospitals will be undertaken.
