Reporter the conditions are good this morning. Cool temperatures, no winds, because otherwise, firefighters have a lot working against them. This is prime fire season. The fuel is drive and accessibility around here is near impossible. This fire started monday night when a building caught fire near Bear Creek Canyon road and deer creek road in Boulder Creek. Its 5 contained. It burned about 300 acres and four buildings. Not sure how many of those are homes. The fire is burning in steep terrain, dry fuel, leaves and brush. A lot of the strategy is to fight the fire from the sky with water drops and fire retardant. 150 homes are under evacuation orders today. I turned around and all of a sudden i saw the flames in the living room and i saw like a light. I took my stuff and ran. I got asked to leave about 1, 2 a. M. And i finally left at 7 a. M. We are tracking a new crash and this could slow you down if you travel westbound 4 towards 242 right where this accident is. Its blocking a lane and we see speeds slowing down right around 40 Miles Per Hour. Heres a live look. This is highway 4 as you approach the port chicago highway. Heading westbound, its 16 minutes for drivers between loveridge and 680. You can hear and see the chaos in this cell phone video taken moments after the partial collapse during the cement pour from the second floor. I was on the third floor. I was walking that way. Reporter construction workers knee deep in cement, others dangling from the rebar. Everybody was worried about the coworkers. Reporter as oakland Fire Fighters arrived, those coworkers also sprung into action, putting up a ladder and putting down pieces of plywood on the now still wet cement which was nearly impossible to move through. Its kind of like quick sand. Reporter oakland fire says 15 to 20 construction workers initially were trapped. Everyone got out. It was a very great rescue between us and them.
