Tallahassee, FL – The ninth-ranked FSU women’s tennis team opened its dual match season Tuesday night with an impressive 6-1 win over in-state foe USF. The Seminoles (1-0) clinched the win early by taking four singles points in straight sets. FSU’s only loss came in a third-set tiebreaker.
“It was awesome to get out there and compete again, this time as a team and for the first time since March of last year,” said FSU Head Coach Jen Hyde. “It was tons of fun to get a couple of our doubles teams back together against a really good USF team. It was their first match as well and it was good to see our girls get their teeth into their matches and stay there and do what they needed to do. It is just awesome to compete and see different jerseys on the other side of the net.”
