Three Noles Win ACC Postgraduate Scholarship

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.  – Three Florida State student-athletes have been selected as 2022 Weaver-James-Corrigan-Swofford Postgraduate Scholarship Award recipients. Izaak Bastian (Men’s swimming and diving), Gabby Carle (women’s soccer) and Kelechi Nwanaga (Women’s track & Field) were among the 54 representatives on the list. Jenna Johnson (beach volleyball) was named an honorary recipient. The Weaver-James-Corrigan-Swofford and Jim and Pat Thacker postgraduate scholarships are awarded to selected student-athletes who intend to pursue a graduate degree following completion of their undergraduate requirements. Each recipient will receive $6,000 toward his or her graduate education. Those honored have performed with distinction in both the classroom and their respective sport, while demonstrating exemplary conduct in the community. Florida State has produced 67 ACC Postgraduate Scholars since 1994.

Noles Gear Up for ACC Indoor Championships

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State track and field team will head to Blacksburg, Va., for the 2021 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Events will begin on Thursday and conclude on Saturday at the Rector Field House on the campus Virginia Tech. Friday's and Saturday's action will be streamed on ACCNX. Quick Sprints The Noles enter the 2022 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships as the defending champions on the women’s side. The Noles have won 17 (13 men’s, 4 women’s) ACC Indoor Championships. Head Coach Bob Braman is in his 18th year as the head coach of the Florida State track and field team Braman leads all active ACC coaches with 15 ACC Indoor Championships. Braman brought in three new assistant coaches in Alex Midgett (Distance), Doug Reynolds (Throws) and Leevan Sands (Jumps). Three Noles Win Titles at South Carolina Indoor Open

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The Florida State track and field team went three-for-three today at the UofSC Indoor Open on Friday as Jacore Irving, Jeremiah Davis and Alonie Sutton each won individual titles. Davis started the day off on a high note for the Noles in the long jump. Davis posted a season-best mark of 7.70m to win the event. Davis' mark is the fifth-best mark in the ACC this season. It was a great day for Jeremiah. We haven't had him this healthy in awhile, and now he has put himself in position to possibly make nationals, Head Coach Bob Braman said.

Wildschutt Runs Second-Fastest Time in NCAA History in Boston

BOSTON Mass. – Take a bow, Adriaan Wildschutt. The Ceres, South Africa, native, solidified himself in the NCAA record books Saturday night with the second-fastest time in collegiate history in the 5000m run at the David Hemery Valentine Invite in Boston, Mass. Wildschutt's time was just 1.16 seconds shy of the collegiate record. Wildschutt found himself in front of several Olympians and his time will be a top 50 time in the history of the sport.

Cunningham and Ryan Named ACC Performers of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Trey Cunningham and Lauren Ryan were named the ACC Performers of the Week Tuesday afternoon. Cunningham and Ryan are the fourth and fifth Noles to be named ACC Performers of the Week this season joining Alonie Sutton, Don'drea Swint and Edidiong Odiong. Cunningham had a record-breaking weekend in the 60m hurdles at the Texas Tech Open. Cunningham broke his own school record clocking in at 7.46 which was also a facility record. Cunningham's time is the fourth-fastest time in collegiate history and is the fastest time ever recorded in the ACC. Trey has won this award many times, but today's might be the most impressive after what he did last weekend in Lubbock, Head Coach Bob Braman said. Trey shattered the record books, and we are really excited to see what he can do throughout the rest of the season. Ryan continues to post consistent numbers for the Noles distance crew.
