Castletown River and Nature Festival got off to a flying start with a Walking Bat Observation Tour at the Lavendar Farm in Inch, forming part of National Heritage week.

Ms Ní Shuilleabháin s sixth class laced up their runners to complete a Santa Dash on Friday for St Vincent de Paul.
The sixth class pupils were given a great send off, with class bubbles cheering them on with a Christmas disco in the yard. The children received motivational words from two local gardaí, with the garda car siren heralding the start of the run. First across the finish line were Niall Kavanagh and Mark O Donnell. Each child crossed the ribbon at the finish and they were all presented with a medal and certificate by deputy principal Anne Gilmartin Ryan. They then enjoyed a hot lunch provided by two generous parents.
