Wexford County Council announced at a recent Gorey Kimuckridge Muncipal District meeting recently that the Ahare River’s Warning system is planned to be in place by the middle of February.
Fianna Fáil councillor Joe Sullivan was in no mood for excuses or far-off plans at the November meeting of Wexford County Council as he raised the long-running issue of the Ahare River flooding in Castletown.
Passing traffic from a nearby GAA pitch and the two schools situated on either end of the road could be at risk because of more frequent flooding of the Ahare River in the coming months, according to a local environmental group.
