Court records say sykes mother turned him in. She called police after a friend of his told her about the murder. Police found kayla bauskes broken and burned body stuffed into a rubbermaid container in sykes closet. According to detectives sykes said he strangled her because he hired her as a prostitute and then stole from him. He said he was trying to get his dna off her after she was dumped toilet bowl cleaner on her and broke her legs to stuff her into the plastic container.
