Nicholes B. Brown, 18, of Granite City, was charged May 19 with residential burglary, a Class 1 felony; stalking, a Class 4 felony; and public indecency, a Class A misdemeanor. The charges were presented by the Granite City Police Department. According to court documents, on April 30 through May 17 Brown allegedly “followed, monitored, observed or surveiled” a 25-year-old Granite City woman. On May 17 he allegedly broke into her residence and exposed himself to her. Bail was set at $150,000.

East Alton man charged in auto theft Scott Cousins, scousins@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail EDWARDSVILLE An East Alton man was charged related to the theft of an auto, among a number of felony charges filed Tuesday by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office. Jacob L. Bruntjen, 33, of East Alton, was charged with offenses relating to motor vehicles, a Class 2 felony. The case was presented by the Metro East Auto Theft Task Force. According to court documents, on May 10 Bruntjen allegedly was found to be in possession of a stolen 1993 Toyota Tacoma. Bail was set at $50,000. Berton L. Newton, 29, Lasha R. Newton, 31, and Jamie L. Barbara, 32, all of the same address in Alton, and Abriana L. Butler, 22, of St. Louis, were all charged with felonies. Berton Newton was charged with aggravated battery, a Class 1 felony. Lasha R. Newton was charged with aggravated battery, a Class 2 felony. Barbara was charged with aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony. Butler was charged with aggravated assault, a Class 4 felony. The cases were presented by the Alton Police Department.

Edwardsville man charged with aggravated DUI Scott Cousins, scousins@thetelegraph.com FacebookTwitterEmail EDWARDSVILLE An Edwardsville man was charged Monday with aggravated DUI after a May 8 incident in Collinsville. Jose D. Rivas Pacheco, 28, of Edwardsville, was charged with aggravated driving while under the influence, a Class 4 felony. The case was presented by the Collinsville Police Department. According to court documents, on May 8 Pacheco allegedly was found to be driving a 2010 mercury under the influence of alcohol. It was noted he had a suspended license for related charges.
