NBI Deputy Director Ferdinand M. Lavin on Tuesday, March 2, said the Dacera family, despite its commitment, has not turned over the mobile telephone for examination.
“We are just being thorough in our investigation,” Lavin explained about the decision of NBI investigators to ask for the flight attendant’s mobile phone.
“We are hoping we could get some leads from the phone,” he said.
The late Dacera was found unconscious last Jan. 1 in the bath tub of her room at the City Garden Grand Hotel in Makati City where she celebrated the new year with her friends.

Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) are set to go to the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City on Tuesday, Feb. 16, to share findings on the investigations conducted on the death of flight attendant Christine Angelica F. Dacera.

NBI Deputy Director Ferdinand Lavin said in a text message that “shared or joint examination will be done at PNP Crime laboratory.”

NBI Deputy Director Ferdinand Lavin said in a text message on Thursday, Jan. 14, those who have already appeared before NBI investigators were “12 from Room 2207.”
It has been learned that Dacera rented with her friends Room 2209 of the City Garden Grand Hotel to celebrate the new year and that they mingled also with occupants of Room 2207.
Dacera was found unconscious last Jan. 1 in the bath tub of Room 2209 of the hotel that she rented with her friends to celebrate the new year.
She was rushed to the Makati Medical Center but was declared dead on arrival.
Lavin said investigators have also invited the men who stayed with Dacera at Room 2209.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)-Death Investigation Division has been assigned to investigate the death of flight attendant Christine Dacera on New Year’s Day.
NBI Officer-in-Charge Director Eric Distor assigned the case to the NBI-DID which is under the NBI Investigative Service headed by Deputy Director Vicente de Guzman III.
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra issued Department Order No. 6 last Friday directing the NBI “to conduct an investigation on the death of Christine F. Dacera, who died on 01 January 2021 in Makati City and, if evidence warrants, to file the appropriate charges against all persons involved and found responsible for any unlawful act in connection therewith.”
