“We are happy with the results, we were vindicated. It proves that Galido and Dela Serna who recanted their earlier statement that there were illegal drugs in their room were lying,” lawyer Roger “Brick” Reyes, spokesperson of the Dacera camp, told the Manila Bulletin.
On January 13, John Pascual “JP” de la Serna III and Rommel Galido recanted their statements that illegal drugs were used during their party at the City Garden Grand Hotel in Makati City. Their lawyer, Abigail Portugal, said Galido and Dela Serna were pressured by policemen to state in their affidavits that there were drugs in the party.

NBI Deputy Director Ferdinand M. Lavin on Tuesday, March 2, said the Dacera family, despite its commitment, has not turned over the mobile telephone for examination.
“We are just being thorough in our investigation,” Lavin explained about the decision of NBI investigators to ask for the flight attendant’s mobile phone.
“We are hoping we could get some leads from the phone,” he said.
The late Dacera was found unconscious last Jan. 1 in the bath tub of her room at the City Garden Grand Hotel in Makati City where she celebrated the new year with her friends.

He said the complete CCTV footage of the hotel is important to find out what really happened to Christine Dacera.
“We have been given USB but not given the DVR which contains the entire transcript of CCTV during those days Dec 31, 2020 and January 1, 2021,” he said outside the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.
According to Reyes, Makati Police only provided them with splices of incidents, saying many footages are missing.
“In other words, they could splice edit so you don’t have a complete record,” Reyes said.
“Sometimes we wonder why they are not divulging everything on the part of the hotel and Makati police,” he added.
