Evansville s Grace of Christ Church raises money for Ukrainians facing war

VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) The Grace of Christ Church located near the Washington Avenue and Highway 41 intersection is gathering people for its Ukrainian Spring Fest and raising money for Ukrainians facing war. Community members met at the Christian Fellowship Church on Millersburg Road on Saturday afternoon to snack on Ukrainian dishes and desserts. The proceeds are going to support Mission Ukraine, where people facing the war will be able to buy supplies and pay for evacuation if needed. Eyewitness News spoke with Victoria Mayatskiy who has been able to keep in touch with her friends in the city of Kharkiv, where the war is heavily hit. "Sometimes they just have to cry it out and just go on with their life go to work and do stuff, usual stuff, because they're still alive and they're blessed to be alive," Mayatskiy says.
