It represents a major milestone in translating leading research into health technology benefits for Canadians and children around the globe.
Through a combination of research, clinical studies, innovation, and clinical expertise, the multi-year partnership enables collaborators to offer a video-game based treatment program for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities. Their goal is to help children with special needs reach their potential through the development and use of novel, evidence-based innovations, to improve neuro-behavioural outcomes in children with neurodevelopmental challenges.
The International Office of Migration (IOM) in Belize with the support of the United States Government and private sector partners has signed an agreement with three partners to enhance their services at three migrant hubs. These newly established links are with the Child Development Foundation, Belize Red Cross and Humana People to People.
Diana Locke, Head, IOM Belize Office says that that these hubs are intended “to create a safe space on accurate information on regular migration procedures.”
According to Locke, IOM will also go a step further to provide services for migrants who qualify for regularization and a system in transitioning from irregular states to regular status in the country. The migrant hubs will also provide assistance and referral support to Belizean returnees enabling them to reintegrate into life and work in Belize.

C.D.F. Launches a Campaign to Prevent Family Violence
The Child Development Foundation launched a campaign that seeks to prevent family violence. The campaign will engage private sector through the use of posters and educational sessions. Executive Director Diana Shaw says that the campaign will help to identify those at risk and help them to access services. Here’s more from Shaw at Wednesday’s virtual campaign launch.

“We are trying to get the non-traditional actors, not just the NGOs who are already involved in this issue but those who are involved in the business sector at the community level, in particular, to see how they can also join the network of persons at the community level who can spread awareness and who can help to identify and refer women and children to services so that they can receive assistance.
