NEWTON FALLS Firefighters fought a tractor-trailer blaze shortly before midnight Saturday on the Ohio Turnpike. The semi, which was hauling about 20 tons of mixed freight, had a mechanical malfunction and caught fire about 11:50 p.m. around mile marker 212, according to joint fire district Chief Doug Theobald. The driver got out of the rig safely, but Theobald said he lost his semi and its contents, valued at about $200,000.
