It was supposed to be here at about 10 00 last night. The three mile stretch from the collision site to here. Its supposed to take a matter of minutes. Instead it took hours as police investigated. But in oakland fire battalion chief says the amtrak train dragged the suv seven blocks before it stopped at high street. The driver of the suv died and no one on the train was injured. Essentially monday afternoon and went in to a little bit more concrete pouring and they had to rebuild one of the guard rails along the side of interstate 280, then go in and paint and stripe the lanes and they finally wrapped all that work up around 9 40 this evening. A spokesperson says they were able to finish early because of lessons they had learned during previous closures of interstate 280.
