Dimapur, Nov. 1 (EMN): Sixty four wrestlers have registered for the 2nd Open Chakhesang Naga Wrestling Championship 2022 to be held on November 4 at Pfutsero Sports Complex, Phek district. Also, 16 wrestlers have registered for the Under-14 open wrestling championship to be held on November 3, an update informed. Both the 2nd open Chakhesang Naga wrestling championship and Under-14 open wrestling championship is being organised by the Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA) under the aegis of the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA). Kuzholuzo Nienu, MLA, and Neikhrolo Khalo, vice president of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) will grace the championship on November 4 as the special guest and guest of honour respectively. Former NWA champion and advisor, CWA, Chisazo Dawhuo, will grace the under-14 championship as an opening guest on November 3.

Our Correspondent Kohima, Oct. 8 (EMN): The second edition of the Chakhesang Open Wrestling Championship 2022 is scheduled to be held on November 4 simultaneously with the fourth edition of the ‘peace marathon’ and the first Open Under-14 Naga Wrestling Championship on November 3 2022, in Pfütsero town. This was informed by the organisers, Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA), Kalos Society, and event managers, in a press briefing at Nagaland Olympic Association, Kohima on Saturday. More than 10 wrestlers from four states outside Nagaland are expected to participate in the senior wrestling category. Three each from Karnataka and Jharkhand, two from Delhi, and three or four wrestlers from Manipur have confirmed participation in the upcoming open championship, CWA President Vekhozo Ringa said. He added there is no entry fee for the wrestlers this time. The CWA also bears expenditures of wrestlers from outside the state, including accommodation, food, and transportation.
Kohima, July 4 (EMN): A week-long youth programme of the Chakhesang Baptist Church Minister’s Hill Kohima (CBCMHK), which began on June 28 under the theme ‘Stand firm’ at the church premises, culminated on July 3. About 250 youth, who attended the event, have participated in sports, music, and literary competitions. Speaking on the theme, the associate pastor of CBCMHK, Thujoneyi Veswüh, urged upon the youth to always rely on Jesus in their pursuit for success in life. He called upon the youth to put on the full armours of God in order to stand against the schemes of the devil. Senior pastor of CBCMHK, Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao, and the associate pastor, David Chuzho, were the speakers of the event. Our CorrespondentKohima, June 28 (EMN): After a gap of two years, the youth week of the Chakhesang Baptist Church Minister’s Hill Kohima (CBCMHK) youth department got underway at the church premises on June 28 on the theme ‘Stand firm.’ Media and publicity committee of CBCMHK informed that sports events including badminton, table tennis, carrom, arm wrestling, volleyball, obstacle race would be conducted in the next two days, while competitions on literary and music would be held on Saturday and Sunday. Addressing the opening ceremony, president of Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA), Vekhozo Ringa, urged the sport enthusiasts to be serious and give their best efforts. “If one wants to take sports as a profession, one must make careful consideration while taking up sport disciplines so that they can excel in the chosen field,” he said.
