Myanmar Military Raids Suu Kyi s Party Headquarters in Yangon

YANGON The Myanmar military raided the headquarters and executive committee offices of the National League for Democracy (NLD), the party led by State Counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, in Yangon on Tuesday night, following a day of continued nationwide protests against the coup in defiance of a warning from the military regime.
At 10 p.m. on Tuesday, the same day the regime announced an 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. curfew and a ban on gatherings of five or more people in almost all of the townships in Yangon, the country’s commercial capital, military personnel broke down doors to enter the party’s headquarters in Shwe Gone Daing, Bahan Township, and its Central Executive Committee office in Tamwe Township.

YANGON, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) The Arakan Army (AA) has freed three members of Myanmar s ruling National League for Democracy (NLD) who were abducted in October last year, according to a release from the Military True News Information Team on Friday.
Three party representatives were taken by the AA armed group during a campaigning activity ahead of general elections in Taungup township of Rakhine state on Oct. 14.
The release of the three representatives came as the result of a recent meeting between the military and the AA armed group, the release said.
