YANGON, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) -- The Arakan Army (AA) has freed three members of Myanmar's ruling National League for Democracy (NLD) who were abducted in October last year, according to a release from the Military True News Information Team on Friday.
Three party representatives were taken by the AA armed group during a campaigning activity ahead of general elections in Taungup township of Rakhine state on Oct. 14.
The release of the three representatives came as the result of a recent meeting between the military and the AA armed group, the release said.
