Meanwhile, BWSSB assistant executive engineer Vinay has said the BCMC Layout is part of the 110 villages expected to get Cauvery water supply under Cauvery Stage V. “Supply of Cauvery water is expected to be improved when the Cauvery Stage V project is completed. The other layout where Cauvery water is being supplied twice a week is not part of the 110 villages,” said the BWSSB assistant executive engineer.
The residents made arrangements for digging four rainwater harvesting pits on the roadside drains near the two borewells and one resident has spent money to have a rainwater harvesting pit near his house. It is said the residents spent Rs 50,000 on each of the rainwater harvesting pit.
According to residents, the pipeline in the area was damaged due to BESCOM work and has not been rectified yet. “In February, the pipeline supplying Cauvery water was damaged, but we have been getting bills from BWSSB. The BESCOM work between Whitefield’s main road to Nallurhalli damaged the pipeline. Initially, we started receiving polluted water, and then there was no water supply at all.
