Workers have agreed to suspend the strike for 24 hours given the city council time to approve the terms during a closed session tomorrow. At least six city councilmembers must approve that deal and that it will go back to the union for member approval. The strike has been averted, so we planned a tuesday and wednesday and thursday strike. Because of the news today we averted a strike tomorrow. More to come tomorrow pending positive outcomes it is likely there will be no strike but that is still unanswered at this time. One day a week the atmosphere changes thanks to the sundays Farmers Market. And this Farmers Market was founded on that principle. From day one we had a line of people in this neighborhood waiting to purchase fresh produce. Reporter the presence of so many people discourages the troubled element from congregating and officials have taken notice. They asked if the market could operate seven days a week. But when that wasnt possible, the city quietly developed a plan to move the farmers out. Instead the plaza will soon contain a Public Recreation area including skateboarding, pickle ball, and tech board courts and pingpong and chess tables.
