Their home is two-and-a-half hours away, south of Darlingford. Having come to the city straight from Boundary Trails Health Centre in Winkler, they arrived in Winnipeg with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. At the end of August 2020, Carson was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, an extremely aggressive form of the disease. The severity of the situation forced the family to remain in Winnipeg. Fortunately, hospital staff knew where they could find help. Dena Labossiere, Carson’s mother has nothing but praise for the care they received.
