Ill run through and introduce them, but to kind of frame the conversation, you know, these panelists they have lived and breathed and in a couple cases run the border the Border Management ports of entry. and disregard them, the jury, as subjected to them, may not. the court shall not permit the defendant to turn the courtroom into a forum in which trump inject politics into this proceeding. jack smith then kicks off a highlight reel of trump s favorite spurious arguments, things like, trump, quotes complaints about the jury indictment and the trial date will interfere with his political activities. or trump s quote, false accusation was directed at the former president. jack smith also takes issue with some of the trump s favorite catch phrases like the injustice department or biden indictment. all of it, jack smith says, would taint a jury pool. quote, the in addition t being wrong, these allegations are irrelevant to the jury s determination of the defendant s guilt or innocence. it would be prejudicial if presented to the jury. put another way, the trump defense was, quote, repeatedly used rhetoric that made the acceptable on the campaign but not on the trial. make no mi

Politicians this congress and many soldiers and their families made decisive distinctions between themselves and their social Welfare Benefits and civilians in theirs. Claiming soldiers and benefits isnt new. They had organize the after the civil war, for example, that soldiersere entitled to pensions and to soldiers homes, for example. But i would say in the late 20th century without conscription, without mass armies, the divide between civilian and soldier grew wide and army leaders made very special efforts to distinguish soldiers of the volunteer era from civilians and benefits from quite different. Id like to focus on the moment of origin of this politics of separation, a moment of origin for the volunteer force and the
And there are so many other things that go into what quality of life really means, how often do you move and your spouse get a job, that sort of thing. In terms of quality of service, were hearing more and more from our people that theyre sort of surprised by all this. What really matters to them more than keeping this high rate of growth is they want to fight in a modern and ready force. They want to go to work every day, and they want to have parts in the bin where they can repair the thing that they are entrusted with, they want to be able to drive it or fly it or sail it and feel confident that they are on a winning team. That matters. Its an intangible, but it makes a tremendous difference for our people, and we have to look after that as well as the quality of life piece. Secretary fox .
