CANTON – Say hello to Stark County s latest class of young leaders. The Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce s ystark! and The Canton Repository announced the 2021 class of Twenty under 40! on Friday. The 2021 class, the 14th annual, is the most diverse yet, with recipients representing a variety of industries and backgrounds, said Kelly Piero, director of ystark!. We are definitely pleased to continue showcasing the outstanding talent that we have, Piero said.  In addition to their professional accomplishments, it s their personal achievements and overall commitment to the community that truly makes them stand out. They strongly demonstrate a commitment to our community s future.

Weekend events: LaFlavour concerts, new exhibits at CMA, murder-mystery parody show The Repository MASSILLON   The band LaFlavour will perform Saturday and Sunday at Lions Lincoln Theatre.  The popular band will have two shows 7:30 p.m. Saturday; and 3 p.m. Sunday. Floor seats are $20, and balcony seats are $15. Seating is limited. Call 330-481-9105 to buy tickets. Lions Lincoln Theatre will follow CDC and health department guidelines of social distancing and face masks. The band will celebrate the many musical styles that LaFlavour has performed over the past 50 years. In addition, it will feature two special guests Lisa Berquist, a longtime area performer; and Dave Zuppert, a former band member.

Illumination: Canton Light Festival makes downtown debut on Friday

A vibrant and multifaceted antidote to cabin fever is launching Friday in downtown Canton in the form of Illumination: Canton Light Festival, a free, family-friendly and mostly outdoors event. Open from 6 to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Feb. 27, Illumination will offer visitors self-guided attractions at eight locations:  A projection-mapping experience with music on the outdoor plaza of the Cultural Center for the Arts, along with an additional light and sound environment inside the center in Cable Recital Hall, plus seven artist-created light sculptures and interactive family activities in the center s Great Court. A light and sound show presented by the Pro Football Hall of Fame every 15 minutes at Centennial Plaza, the $12.3-million outdoor entertainment site that just opened to the public.
