A vibrant and multifaceted antidote to cabin fever is launching Friday in downtown Canton in the form of Illumination: Canton Light Festival, a free, family-friendly and mostly outdoors event.
Open from 6 to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Feb. 27, Illumination will offer visitors self-guided attractions at eight locations:
A projection-mapping experience with music on the outdoor plaza of the Cultural Center for the Arts, along with an additional light and sound environment inside the center in Cable Recital Hall, plus seven artist-created light sculptures and interactive family activities in the center's Great Court.
A light and sound show presented by the Pro Football Hall of Fame every 15 minutes at Centennial Plaza, the $12.3-million outdoor entertainment site that just opened to the public.
