Triopia s Owen Bell puts it all on the line this season

Triopia s Owen Bell puts it all on the line this season Dennis Mathes, dmathes@myjournalcourier.com FacebookTwitterEmail Ask Owen Bell. “Just play hard and play with heart,” said Bell, who has been the Trojans’ starting offensive tackle for the past two years. “Play every snap like it could be your last, I guess.” That’s never been more true than this year. But Bell, and the rest of the team, have risen to the occasion. Triopia will be one of four teams vying for the Western Illinois Valley Conference North Division championship as the Trojans host Brown County tonight. Triopia, Brown County, Camp Point Central and Unity-Payson are all 3-1.

Wearing a cast, Triopia s Musch makes play of his life

Wearing a cast, Triopia s Musch makes play of his life Dennis Mathes, dmathes@myjournalcourier.com FacebookTwitterEmail 39of39 Due to a series of unfortunate injuries, Triopia senior Connor Musch had never played a full game of high school football until last Saturday, at Camp Point Central. He played that game with his right forearm in a cast. And he made the play of the game and maybe the season when he chased down, and tackled, a Camp Point Central running back who had broken into the open field with time winding down in the first half. Leading 8-6, the Panthers were driving. On first down at the 44, Camp Point’s Evan Bell burst through the line and sprinted toward the end zone. Musch ran after him, dove and grabbed at his foot. Bell stumbled forward for a couple of more yards, then fell at the Triopia 26.
