Due to a series of unfortunate injuries, Triopia senior Connor Musch had never played a full game of high school football until last Saturday, at Camp Point Central.
He played that game with his right forearm in a cast.
And he made the play of the game — and maybe the season — when he chased down, and tackled, a Camp Point Central running back who had broken into the open field with time winding down in the first half.
Leading 8-6, the Panthers were driving. On first down at the 44, Camp Point’s Evan Bell burst through the line and sprinted toward the end zone. Musch ran after him, dove and grabbed at his foot. Bell stumbled forward for a couple of more yards, then fell at the Triopia 26.
