What happened earlier this morning and backed up traffic for hours, there was a tragic fatal motorcycle accident, killed a motorcycle rider and shook up drivers on the freeway as well. When we arrived on scene the motorcycle was still here. So was the deceased rider. We dont know his name. The chp says its a man in his early 20s. The motorcycle was a blue yamaha. This happened before 9 15. Officers say the motorcycle rider was splitting lanes on northbound 101 and sideswiped a black chevy suv. The motorcycle rider lost control and ended up tumbling down in the number three lane where he was run over by a flatbed pickup truck.
