Off form Town dropped more home points as they drew 1-1 at home to Coventry. Marcus Bent put the Blues ahead on 16 minutes but Micky Doyle equalised for the visitors just after the half hour. Town probably had the better of the second half but failed to grab the winner, sub Ian Westlake coming closest.
Town have taken former Cambridge United central defender Adam Tann on trial. The 23-year-old left the U s in the summer but is likely to cost the Blues compensation if they decide they want to sign the former England U18 international.
Town go looking for their first home derby victory over Norwich City in seven years on Sunday (KO midday). Since Alex Mathie s first half hat-trick inspired the Blues to that famous 5-0 win in 1998, Town have beaten the Canaries only once, 2-0 at Carrow Road in 2002/03.
Town chief scout Steve McCall and first team coach Bryan Klug are reported to be off to Prague this week to look at a defender. The Blues are keen to add a centre-half to their squad and are already keeping an eye on former trialist César Navas s recovery from a broken metatarsal.
