Represented by defence lawyer Andrew Wiseman, Ferguson pleaded guilty on Tuesday to drink driving. Mr Wiseman said Ferguson had not driven from the Gold Coast to the Glass House Mountains, but had foolishly gotten behind the wheel after having a few beers in the forest, shortly before police arrived. Mr Wiseman said Ferguson, a tradie, was remorseful for his actions and had since completed the Queensland Traffic Offenders Program. Subscriber only A Caloundra man who blew more than four times the limit was also driving without a licence when he crashed his car on Friday, police have alleged. Kawana police officer-in-charge Mark Cordwell said the 34-year-old Little Mountain man was arrested after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed at about 8pm. Senior Sergeant Cordwell said the man s vehicle sustained moderate damage after it crashed into a parked car near Oceanic Drive in Warana.

Glenview man Wisam El Haouli was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle after the November 18 crash at Moffat Beach. The car crashed into Moffat Beach Brewing Co and two customers, a man in his 50s and his wife, were taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital for treatment. The driver charged over a formal car crash in Moffat Beach intends to plead not guilty. The two passengers, an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl, were not physically injured in the crash.

Subscriber only A man has been charged for allegedly setting a Coast home on fire with a woman and child inside after investigations into a historical arson. Police allege the 30-year-old man attended a Landsborough Rd address in Maleny on March 18 last year and deliberately lit a fire that destroyed the home. Officers say he was seriously injured in the blaze but a woman and child, who were known to the man, escaped uninjured.
