Man charged with arson after home destroyed

A man has been charged for allegedly setting a Coast home on fire with a woman and child inside after investigations into a historical arson.
Police allege the 30-year-old man attended a Landsborough Rd address in Maleny on March 18 last year and deliberately lit a fire that destroyed the home.
Officers say he was seriously injured in the blaze but a woman and child, who were known to the man, escaped uninjured.
