Denmark Arts kicks off its season by presenting a performance by Lott String Quartet from New Orleans. The musicians are Kurt Munstedt, Benjamin Thacher, Rachel Hsieh and Luke Fleming, and they’ll be playing contemporary and romantic classical music, including George Walker’s Lyric for Strings and Mendelssohn’s final String Quartet in F minor.

Falmouth Congregational Church presents a parking lot coffee house performance by indie folk musician Tim Winchester. Winchester, a Maine artist, released the album “Into the Open” in January, and it’s home to songs like “One of a Kind,” “Feels Like Rain” and “If Love is Blind.” You’ll be able to listen to the show on your car’s radio on a low-frequency station that will be shared upon arrival. The show will also be streamed on Facebook on the church’s Facebook page, facebook.com/falmouth.ucccebook. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, you can still find it online.
Merkari to perform at Cadenza
The duo features singer, guitarist and keys player Sophie Patenaude and her grandfather John Edwards on guitar and backing vocals.

Meraki will take the stage at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at Cadenza, 5 Depot St., Freeport.

The show also will feature Jeff McIlwaine on bass and backing vocals and Neil Carroll on drums and backing vocals. The Out of the Blue streaming series from Blue in downtown Portland is still going strong, and on Friday night, you can catch a show from Britt Connors. The Boston-based singer-songwriter and her band, Bourbon Renewal, carved out their own “y’all-ternative” genre with a sound that blends rock, country, roots and a New Orleans street-parade vibe. Connors’ most recent album is last year’s “Longitude,” home to 11 tracks that bounce from pop to rock to gospel-infused Americana. Your toes will be tapping to “Beaufort Breakdown,” you’ll sway to the moody “I Told You So,” and you’ll waltz ’round your living room to the ballad “Lay My Head.”
