lot of it was just personal. that may be good. trump today compared it to pro wrestling but i think when chris christie had that moment, when he stepped up and he said, people are sick of listening to you, donald and to you, carly, argue about your business careers. this ought to be about working foles at home, that was a moment for him because so many of the exchanges as prodded by jake tapper were essentially spit ball fights. bill: if that is the question, these were not questions they were comparisons. it was almost as if you google rand paul s name you figure out what he said about one of the other 10 recently, you develop that into a question. however, this is what we got from rubio s campaign manager terry sullivan. it was a little like collars dickens story. it might have been get but would have been better if editor had been involved. having said that, rubio had no complaint this morning and neither did chris christie and neither did carly fiorina. they were okay with it. as
john mccain, they ran for president and didn t go so well. ross perot went out for different reasons. when he dropped out, he was number one. bill clinton was number three. after ross dropped, bill clinton chose al gore and his fortunes changed. i think david has a really interesting point, not just the business dealings, not just the companies themselves. they have to reveal a lot of financial records and they can often be used against rich candidates and business candidates. it s one of the reason that you don t see them step up and say i m willing to be dominated of this or that. they don t want to put all of it out. mitt romney s return in 2012, the low tax rate, cayman islands. there s going to be a lot of questions before this is over. chris christie went after trump and fiorina together for talking about their business careers so much.
i agree, that s good. you had quality. they were back and forth about their business careers and tried to bring it to the issue. did it seem like it was all about what trump said and everybody responding or do you feel you had a chance to really put exactly out there what you can offer to the american people? listen, i feel like what i ve learned on the campaign trail, mika, we re sick of all these folks talking about themselves and they don t hear them talking about them and what they re concerned about. that was my observation during what happened last night. i could say this. i would love more time talking on the stage. i think we all would. i don t feel like anybody stepped on me last night. i got to say the things i wanted to say and it gave me more time to talk about the problems i ve learned. governor christie, it s willie. i know you re thrilled to be up with us at 4:30 in the morning in california.
in the debates. i think many other people were. i think in comparison to trump, you have someone that comes across as being a lot more serious. i don t know if she will be the republican nominee or end up on the ticket. i think comparing these two people, regardless of what you make of their business careers or how much money they made for their various corporations, in that experience, i think there is no situation where you would put the debate performances that they had side-by-side and fought come away being more impressed with carly fiorina. i think that has gotten under donald trump s skin a little bit. donald trump took heat in a question on thursday night about the fact that his companies have filed four bankruptcies, carly fiorina did not. but this is probably the biggest challenge she will face is her business record of ceo hewlett packard, she was ousted from the company. she oversaw 30,000 plus layoffs at hewlett packard. something she will have to answer for. do you thin
