BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) â More school zone cameras will be in action across Buffalo come next Monday. A spokesperson for the city said around 15 additional cameras will be in operation, as in-person classes begin for some Buffalo Public Schools. That spokesperson says the city plans on detailing the re-roll out of the program later this week.
Late last year, the Buffalo Common Council voted to put the program on hold. Mayor Byron Brown vetoed the measure.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) â The Buffalo Common Council has approved the Buffalo Police Departmentâs purchase of 14 new vehicles, but not after the department had to spend more than $100,000 to deal with the vehicle shortage.
In January of this year, Buffalo Police Union President Jon Evans said more than half the departmentâs fleet was out of service and 25% of those vehicles would not return to service.
âWeâre dangerously low on vehicles,â Evans said.
Evans says that situation hasnât gotten much better since January, especially since the pandemic forced leaders to make some tough decisions.
