Richard had three children Sam, Richard, and Sara as well as grandchildren and many friends. Friends described him as selfless, outgoing, and the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Richard was the nicest person I probably ever met, Dellafave said. He treated me like a son, honestly, you know, and I looked up to him like a father. That s the hardest thing. I definitely consider him a father to everybody. Anybody who knows Richard knows that he was that kind of person.
At 71, he was still actively working at Ridge Donut Cafe in Irondequoit, something friends would sometimes tease him about.
