That is very well put. Not every workplace is for everyone. While it is true that you need to be very very very passionate about being a corporate lawyer to survive there, you also need to always say yes to whatever the partner is asking. You cannot have any original approach to anything. Just do what the partners tell you and don t go about presenting them with your ideas, they don t have the time for all that, you see. In my brief time (9 months) there I couldn t understand what special things they were doing there. At my current place (an actual tier I), they basically do the execute the same transactions without any extra bell and whistles that S&R is so proud of. Of course, that might give S&R the name it has but it kills people like me. The constant pressure and the sleepless nights are next level. Next level!
