Leading corporate law firms recruit graduates of Jindal Global Law School in 2020 and 2021 ANI | Updated: Apr 30, 2021 09:37 IST Sonipat (Haryana) [India], April 30 (ANI/OP Jindal University): As many young graduating law students across the nation still face high levels of uncertainty in the midst of the ongoing pandemic, Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) of the OP Jindal Global University (JGU), that has been ranked as India s number one Law School earlier in 2021 by QS World University Rankings by Subject, secured a commendable 36 Zero-Day placements for the Batch of 2021. Normally, the work style in capital market teams across law firms has tight timelines and stressful environment. However, good increments with bonuses and work environments in certain capital market teams have changed the entire game. Having worked with the erstwhile AMSS (Capital Markets) for couple of years and now in -house (as a Banker), I think in the long run, Prashant & Nikhil (SAM), Manan (Indus) and Yash (CAM) are clear winners, as they care about their people, ensure timely increment for their teams. Also, heard that there is next to zero attrition in their teams (nonetheless, one of the lead bank has hired few associates from CAM, Mumbai capital markets, but this appears more of a choice than environment issues).

That is very well put. Not every workplace is for everyone. While it is true that you need to be very very very passionate about being a corporate lawyer to survive there, you also need to always say yes to whatever the partner is asking. You cannot have any original approach to anything. Just do what the partners tell you and don t go about presenting them with your ideas, they don t have the time for all that, you see. In my brief time (9 months) there I couldn t understand what special things they were doing there. At my current place (an actual tier I), they basically do the execute the same transactions without any extra bell and whistles that S&R is so proud of. Of course, that might give S&R the name it has but it kills people like me. The constant pressure and the sleepless nights are next level. Next level! So yeah, this was not the place for me, nor can it be for anyone who cares for more than just being a corporate lawyer.ReplyReport to LI
