El Dorado’s senior class of 2023 didn’t bring home a lot of athletic championships. The Lady Wildcats won their second 5A state track championship and the cheerleaders won the 5A state title for the first time.
Success can be measured in a number of ways.
HOT SPRINGS - El Dorado’s DeAndra Burns Jr., won a pair of events and led the Wildcats to the championship Thursday in the Joe Reese Memorial Track & Field Championships.
Hot Springs went on a 20-2 run in the fourth quarter and beat El Dorado 62-50 Friday night in 5A South action at Wildcat Arena. The Wildcats fell to 2-12 in league play.
Sheridan knocked down 11 3-pointers and El Dorado’s offense continued to sputter on Tuesday in a 69-50 victory for the Yellowjackets at Wildcat Arena. The Wildcats fell to 2-11 in league play while Sheridan improved to 6-5.
El Dorado ushered in the new year with a 5A-South sweep of Texarkana Tuesday at Wildcat Arena. The Lady Wildcats won 75-62 before the Wildcats topped the Razorbacks 59-39.
