The Community Health initiative haiti has been making trips to the island nation since 2012 to offer free medical and dental care. Volunteers travel there five times a year and offer a week long clinic. The trip was already scheduled, but now theyre planning to bring extra supplies to help people impacted by the hurricane. The gr director says the area where they work didnt get hit as hard as expected. What we were hearing on the news that it was going to be rain and lots of wind, and fortunately for our area, we had more of a Tropical Storm and so we didnt have quite as much rain or wind.
