As countries gradually open up to vaccinated foreign travellers, Indians who received Bharat Biotech s Covaxin may not qualify for travelling as several countries are yet to approve the vaccine.
Covaxin and controversies
India s home-grown vaccine Covaxin was approved for emergency use, amidst a lot of criticism, on January 3 in the absence of complete Phase 3 trial data. Covaxin, developed by Bharat Biotech in partnership with National Institute of Virology and the ICMR, is currently accepted in only nine nations other than India.

Will CBSE Class 12 Board Exam be cancelled? Govt sets up GoM to seek states views
Class 12 Board Exam 2021: While lakhs of students are waiting for a final decision on CBSE Class 12 exam 2021, the Centre on Friday set up a Group of Ministers (GoM) to seek states views and recommend whether it is feasible to conduct the exams amid the prevailing gloomy situation due to Covid. The GoM includes Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar and Union Education Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
The GoM is expected to decide whether the CBSE Class 12 exam should be conducted this year. It will send recommendations to the government after seeking the views of all states and UTs.

Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Textiles Minister Smriti Irani also made similar references on Twitter to the tweets by Mishra.
Mishra had claimed that the joint letter by 12 Opposition leaders to Prime Minister Narendra Modi contradicted the stands taken by the political parties earlier. He said Rahul Gandhi and several Congress leaders had asked the Centre to allow state governments greater say in the procurement of vaccines, including the open market sale of vaccines at marginally higher prices.
“Problem with the joint letter by opposition politicians is that no one knows when to take these leaders seriously? For they recommended one thing one day and do a complete U-turn the next day. So which suggestion to accept? And when,” said Mishra, who was associated with Modi’s 2014 Lok Sabha election campaign.
